The Bar - An Intimate Affair

There are a couple of new builds in the store this week, one being the 'Modern Goth Bookcase' and this 83 Prim build which will be termed affectionately as 'The Bar'. Carefully textured with atmosphere in mind, it's ready built and perfect for the role play environment, or would slot in just as easily at home or in a club. Destination - Slow

I had a lot of problems TP'ing in SL this morning, but as luck would have it I hit on this gem after trying to teleport to several other places in search of the perfect winter destination. There are no Snowmen, no skating Polar Bears, not even a glimpse of Santa. What they do have is a beautifully textured and really well thought out diorama of cosy little contemporary stores, an Airport departures lounge converted to a make-shift bazaar selling everything from trinkets and gadgets to modern interior fabrics, there's lots to see and do, maybe even a few photo opportunities. So this winter I'm recommending a little trip to the wonderful sim of Slow.

The Metro - Urban Grunge Subway Textures

This new pack of 23 unique textures for builders affectionatly titled 'The Metro' has been running around my head for the past year, and finally it's made it to production. Everything you'll need for walls, platforms, track, tunnel, signs and even track-side advertising is in here. Plenty of blood (optional), plenty of dirt (not optional) - actually it is there's a lovely shiny platform in there if that's your cup of tea, but in the main this is a really grimey, grungey set designed with atmosphere in mind. It's now available from the marketplace and the main store priced at L$499.

Pretty F*cked Up Walls

A follow up to the scarily popular 'Pretty F*cked Up Concrete', here it comes - cue catchy title - 'Pretty F*cked Up Walls'. It's 14 Textures which work equally well as exterior or interior walls depending on your build, each with delicate shading, splattered blood and guts, graffiti and of course - Arnold from Different Strokes. I can see these going well on a subway build or multi-storey carpark too, whatever, that's up to you.

Distressed Sci-Fi Textures

I must be on a roll, so shortly after releasing the Urban Sci-Fi pack here comes a brand new pack of 40 Unique, Hi-Res Sci-Fi Interiors. We have walls, panels, light grills and doors, which would work pretty well as either sliding or saloon style. Destination - The Petrovsky Flux

I can't really do justice for this new exhibit at the Spencer Museum of Art on the SL grid. It's a constantly changing, moving and quite organic explosion of art as seen through the eyes of it's designers - Blotto Epsilon & Cutea Benelli - Every visit is unique as you'll discover new things, little details you may have overlooked before. You can clime, explore, fly around and even experiment with sound and movement whilst playing your own unique haunting melody at the pavillion. I couldn't recommend visiting the Petrovsky Flux highly enough.

Here's an old friend from way back, re-drawn, refreshed and hitting the shelves now. A pack of 16 sleek and stylish Laminate Wood textures in a range of colours - including black and white - Now to be found on the marketplace and at the main store priced at L$299.

Grunge Tenement - Facade Textures

I must be honest, one of my biggest pet hates in the 3D environment is two dimensional facades. It kind of goes against the whole point of a 3D environment for me and nine times out of ten they look absolutely awful, flat and weak. We are blessed with sculpting tools for a good reason. However I was asked to do these and as it turns out they get my royal seal of approval - or they wouldn't have featured in this blog. It's a pack of eight tileable textures which includes the brickwork, windows and shutters. Very simple, but very effective. The pack is L$75 or 150i'z depending on which grid you're frequenting these days.

Warming Up For Halloween

Yes it's that season again, when one day of the month is celebrated - by business owners and shoppers alike - over the course of the 30 days leading up to it. The Haunted Carnival at my main store is taking shape nicely, be sure to set your viewer to 'night' or a suitable windlight setting, as well as having your sound on for the full effect. Earlier today the 7Seas fishers turned out in their usual good numbers and high spirits for a contest to get things under way.

Now Open For Business In InWorldz

Yes [K.O.] Khan Omizu textures has safely arrived on the shores of InWorldz and you can find the new store down on Mooville Farm. Home of Bebe and John Mahogany, the latter is producing a range of sculpty animals unique to InWorldz, and very nice they are too.

Destination - Imagine Peace Tower

It's round about a year or coming up to, that Yoko Ono's 'Imagine Peace' Tower was unveiled by the woman herself in SL. So I took the invite laid down in her Twitter a few days back and decided to pay a visit to see how it's getting on. The tower is switched on automatically - but with a nice twist which I won't spoil - shortly after 3.20, 7.20 and 11.20 that's am & pm, six times a day in total so you can plan ahead. The link above will take you directly to the visitor centre.

Destination - Visiwa Sims

This was a second visit to the Visiwa Sims this year, it's such an inspiring place and photo opportunities are ten a penny. There are eight conjoined Sims, dozens of Islands and private little coves. The main port of call is Mwituni with it's arcade of stores and well preserved buildings wrapped around an inlet housed by boats old and new. My personal favourite Sim here is Bandari, its quiet little cove reminds me of somewhere I often dream of visiting.

Pretty F*cked Up Concrete

Yesterday I was reading about local fallout shelters, which would come into use in the event of Armageddon. I guess that was the inspiration that led me to go on and create this pack of
10 new textures - Pretty F*cked Up Concrete - They are tileable, I won't say seamless because I included shading on the top and bottom for atmosphere. There are two sets of five and the price is L$75.

7 Seas Fishing On The Promenade

This week I was proud to open a new 7 Seas Fishing area at the Main Store.
Good friend Tolsen DeCycla - proprietor of Onium Dye Village - Led the
proceedings by hosting the main event, attended by a huge crowd of 40
people eager to win the prize money along with many of Tolsen's Custom
Rods and 7 Seas accessories. Here's to many more fun evenings on the Promenade.
